It all started in the Thimble Islands in Branford, CT, where Chris and Ali’s grandfather’s (Bob Patton & Spence Gowrie) grew their friendships with each other not knowing how that bond would span through generations for years to come, through their children and grandchildren. Chris and Ali first met in the summer of 2013 in those same islands and quickly built a bond that made a lasting impact on them both. It wasn’t until one day in August of 2021 that they reconnected while playing a game of wingnut, instantly picking up where they left off with the same level of sarcastic banter and intrigue. At the time, Chris was working and living in Binghamton, NY, and Ali had recently moved back to Connecticut from Austin. They spent the first year of their relationship going back and forth between CT and NY, until finally settling into their own place in New Haven in June of 2022. Since, it has been nothing but adventures, laughs, kitchen dancing, and building the foundation for their future together, including welcoming their kitten, Calliope into their home. Given their mutual love for and ties to the thimbles, it was inevitable that the two would choose such a special place to celebrate the start of the rest of their lives together with their closest friends and family.
